If they went and did that you think they were already looking for a reason to replace ya and this just happened to be it? Yeah work stress can play havoc on a persons body. FMLA (Family Medical Leve Act) guarentees you a job for up to 30 days off even if you don't have vacation time to cover it, I would fight it. They have to give you a job but it doesn't have to be your job. If they are short handed I would think they would still need you if they just hired a replacement for you. If they don't give you a job back they are violating a federal law.
