after messing with it for over 2 hours, I'm fairly happy with the tune. Pulls hard and idles,....well...ok. won't hold a low rpm idle for more than 30 seconds or so..it'll hold a fast idle forever...just moves the plane....gonna get some new glow plugs and airplane fuel Friday.

I'm sure that will be fine.  They always run different in the air anyway.

Headed to the lhs in a few...gonna pick up some stuff..iron, coating, heat gun..depending on what mood he's in,  I'll maybe get him to look at it with me....
I also want a spinner for the prop so I can use an electric starter.

I have an instructional video for applying monacoat.  You're more than welcome to borrow it.  It really sheds the light on how to do it right.  It's really geared towards teaching you how to cover a scratch built airplane.  If you're just doing some minor patch work, you probably don't need the video.

dude, he told me...tape it up and fly. you will love that plane...(can't tell you how many times he said that...)
I said, "I'll buy what I need...he said...got tape?...lol"
so it's taped up and ready for electronics... :smile28:

naw, I ain't going for looks... :smile16:

He was impressed with the shape of the plane, and he said that it is what he learned with.

he was adamant about the tape vs. repairing for my first time. He was actually kinda excited... :smile28:

So ya'll are like peas & carrots again?  Thats definitely better than the alternative. Shoulda seen him the other day when I told him I was looking for parts for those old cars & that I had bought them all from him back in the 90s... he was all happy & laughing & stuff. Thought it was pretty cool to see him in such a good mood about it all. I didn't know Janet was still there too.

even though taping it up works,  with that being you first plane,  it's also one to start to learn how to put covering on,  just for the fact to learn,  kinda like the boats,  even thou tape don't work so well on boats.... think.gif
