How to make Tawakoni even better?

I was not implying that anything went wrong with the event.  As with anything there is always a way to make it a little better.  There have been some great suggestions here.  Again, this is not the place to hash out solutions or to say someone's suggestion is not achievable.  Maybe they can, Maybe they can't.  That can be figured out as the event planning takes place next year.  This is just a place to mention things that might make it run even smoother next time around.

I'm down for who ever wants to come and run around the lake.  Just let me know when next yr. Its a huge lake !  We had a little gathering back in july it was kinda a test to see how many would come out just for the day it was 23 boats total not all hot boats but all good peeps.  Matt I know u didn't mean anything bad about the hole thing and I am always open for better options to make anything run smoother.  Its all good!  who all from north is going to joe pool ?

On the bouys I agree.  And it has caused me to rethink them for our deal too. We just don't run west to east much.  I think I have an idea about what we can use.

I have another little idea for next year that I want to talk to Bobby and Jasson and the rest of the planning crew about off line.

Ok I talked to hammer about his idea and I like it. What do you guys think about having some bracket matches like all boats up to 60mph, 61-70mph, 71-80, 81-90, 91-100, and so on. We could even put $20 a piece in each bracket to make it more exciting.

Sounds good bobby and i'm all for it...however to do this it requires ALOT of organization and people to help. Also...as with any bracket races theres CHEATERS! and without speed traps etc for break outs, it will only cause problems. The current run what ya brung -call out who ya want type deal is WAY easier.Its all for fun...you start layin some $$ out there and it become competitive. Just my .02. Carry on... :grin:

I think when cabbage  :smile13: gets thrown into the mix you will open up a can of worms no matter how little it is.  If folks think they are running for more than just fun, then the fun goes out the door and a little nasty comes in.  Just my .02

I agree about the sand bagging. It would have to be done by trust because there isn't anyway I could get a speed trap system to setup out there. We don't have to involve money but I think it would help with more side by side passes being made. O didn't know who I could run with and when I saw a few boats making passes that I thought would be a good match for me they were headed back to the beach by the time I would head to my boat to go run them.

That, or just have three classes.. Cruisers, NA Hot Boats, PA Hot Boats.

Cruisers = Engine cover and thru transon exhaust
NA = Naturally Aspirated and up to a tunnel ram and two 4bbls, OT headers, no engine cover.
PA = Power Adders and every thing that doesn't fit into the above two.

Defintitely don't put any money in the pot. Run it like Pinks All Out. If a guy lifts, he loses. The starter will be able to hear it.

You can't really do it that way because a 500+ cubic inch motor will will smoke a 454 cubic inch motor in a jet boat. And some people like me only run high 80s on spray because they may not be able to put a big shot on it due to internal parts.
