Hey guys, well I got a small Christmas bonus from my work today and blew it on a new carburetor for the Crusader. It should be here in a few days and I'll install it next weekend.

Here's the link to what I got.

Right on brotha!!! Gotta get these Ford cruisers to blow the GM cruisers out of our wake!

Well with the new carb I might hit 56mph now....but that is still hauling a$$ for a big 'ole "lake tank" like what I have.

Outta the hole will be a phenomal change. Like night and day for my Glastron with the Demon on it. I didn't gain a lot of top end on mine, but I could FEEL the cavitation from a dead stop. Then I could feel the impeller bite the water and GO! That never happened with the Edelbrock, not even once.

Man, I hope so. Unfortunately I can't test it out until March....unless I want to go through the whole "winterizing" thing again...

Then the Stealth intake got me even more pull out of the hole, and a bunch of top end. Actually, I didn't feel the cavitation until the Stealth was on it, but it still got out the hole a lot quicker with the Demon on the stock intake.

I'm running an Edlebrock Torker II 460 intake on my sled. Do you think a stealth would work better?

IMO, a Torker II is a great manifold for a car to shred is tires from a 1,500rpm power brake to 3,000rpm. It's power range is awesome down low, but boats need power above 3,500. A jet pump is akin to having a 4,000rpm torque converter. The Stealth's advertised power range is from idle to 6,800rpm, but it really comes to life from 3,500 to 6,000 rpm, perfect for a jet boat. I have a 8021 on mine because I'll running heads with SCJ ports. If you're keeping your D3VE heads go with an 8012.

That edelbrock torker 2 has a power band from 2500-6500. Seems about right to me.But what do i know... think.gif

It would be interesting to try them both out one day. Go top end and 0-50. I'll even pay for a couple sets of sacrificial intake gaskets. We could have thrown a stock intake in the mix, but it got sold for $185 on ebay.

I'd like to see a comparison with a Stealth, Port-O-Sonic, Torker II and a Victor JR done on the same day. Zero to 50 time and top end on GPS.

I'd put my money on the Stealth for 0-50 and the Victor for top end, with all of them being pretty damn close to each other.

just a guess but i bet it would be inconclusive-i dont think the intake is near the factor as heads/valve train combo would be.

newbee guy question here. I have the Torker II 460. Is that the same thing as a Torker II?

On my Glastron, stock intake with beer can sized SCJ ports vs. Stealth with the same ports was night and day, no other changes made. Best ever GPS run on stock intake was 62.2, with the Stealth was 66.7. Never did a measurement of 0-50 but that difference would be even bigger judging by the seat of my pants.

Yeah, same thing. It's a Torker II, as opposed to the other version, the Torker.

Okay, well that's good to know. I'll probably hold onto that intake and swap it with another intake just to try it out. Right now I can close the engine lid without the carb hitting it. With a taller intake, I'd have to put a scoop on for sure.....which I might still have to do anyway if the Holley 850 Marine carb I just bought is higher than the Holley 750 L-3310 street carb I have on there now.

Here you go, side by side comparison. Stock vs. stealth. Your Torker II is the same height as a stock leaving the carb in between the valve covers. The stealth jacks that puppy up above the valve covers.

Big difference. Well if the Holley 850 is taller than the 750, I'll have to cut out a hole to put a scoop in anyway. Hmmmmm
