Mock up of the hot side is done. All the pipes are at the welder to get TIG'd. This coming week, get the fuel system rigged up. Should be my last weekend N/A..

Got the LS1 back in it yesterday and took it out with the carb for a few runs. Did real good. Got my compression back so NOW it's ready for boost and E85.

Don't know if ya'll saw it, added an umbrella stand for a little shade. Made it out of some PVC, a piece of scrap plywood and some leftover carpet. Got the umbrella at Big Lots for $9. It just sits on the floor in the middle with the diverter cable holding it down. Easily removable.

Here's a couple of vids with turbos on the Cheyenne. First is in front of the house. Second is the shakedown run. Faulty boost controller let the boost run unregulated and kept blowing the cold side off.

So I've always heard that too much power out of the aluminum LS motors can be problematic. Wednesday night at Lavon, put her in the water, let it warm up real good then jumped on it. It snapped to the 7,200 rpm rev limiter in a heartbeat. Got out of it and back in it two more times and same deal. Turned around to make another pass and saw the water just spewing out of the water dump. Shut er down and towed it back the ramp. Fired it on the trailer and it ran fine, had oil pressure, but wass still spewing water and exhaust out of the water dump. Compression test yesterday revealed the entire right side of the motor had zero compression. Pulled the head this morning and found what's in the pics. Rotating assembly, heads, and everything are fine. My iron 5.3 will be going to the machine shop to become and 5.7 liter beast real soon.

It gets expensive doing this hobby of ours .. I have blown up my share of stuff .. 2 engines on E-85 trying to squeeze it for a few more MPH .. Pistons and blocks start getting expensive quick .. That is why I am back to a pump gas deal ..

Sh!t bro, I got a $300 junk yard dog 5.3 liter here that's gonna get the treatment, then get put through the ringer... Gonna cost me a couple hunnert in machine work, a couple hunnert in rings and bearings, and I'll be back in business.

Wondering if the damage initially happened on the initial run where the boost ran away.
