I've got one too James.... it isn't int he best shape but it's yours if you want it.

I'm gonna powder coat some pump parts next week. I can do that at the same time so it matches.

Got the C pump out of the boat today. With the hole that got knocked through the stringer the other day Edward and I went ahead and cut the floors out on either side of the stringers. Yep, all soaked. We got the foam out mostly intact and weighed it. 70 pounds soaking wet!! The right side stringer still looks reall good, but the left is shot back around the engine bay area. We'll just replace them both with new 8 foot long 2x6's and NOT put any foam back in. Right now, I can pick up the back of the hull.

Yeah, I know. I had no intentions of doing this to the boat. No biggie. Minor set back. I'll have the glass work done and be back on track by the end of next week. Gonna be ultra protective of the new paint during this process. It will still be on the water before Speed and CJ.

Just sayin bro, we've heard numerous times in the last few months that it'll get wet on Monday. Has yet to happen. None of us are making that claim, you are. If it ain't getting wet on Monday then quit saying it will be. All I'm saying is that the Enforcer will be on the water before both yours and CJ's, and it's an empty hull that needs stringers in it.

Sooooooo

Off to my shop to build a stand to put in new stringers. I see what you all were talking about now when I did this to the Glastron. That hull is rock solid, no movement at all. This one, just on the trailer with the stringers "kind of" in, when you lift the stern you can see the  bottom of the hull flex. So I'm gonna make a 2x4 stand to support the hull from the outer edges and let the bottom hang true. Then glass the snot out of it with new wood stringers so it's rock solid. Then paint the trailer to match the boat while it's empty. Hull back on the trailer and back on track by next Friday to get wired up. That's my claim and I'm sticking to it. I'll have two boats at Tawakoni, running... Hahaha.

There have been a few times that I had really hoped to have it ready to go , but shit happens . It is pretty much ready to go now , except for a few little things that I am waiting to get welded . If I had been able to get them in time I would be leaving town with the boat tonight , but they are not ready . The boat will be done when its done . This is my hobby , not my job .

So, I have to cut out all this fiberglass and stringers and dreading the task at hand. Someone came by my shop the other day and said this would be a perfect job for one of those high speed oscillating cutters.  So I shot over to Harbor Freight and picked up one for 18 bucks. First pic is 30 minutes into the job. Took about 3 hours all together to get everything out. That's my favorite new tool. It even handled back cutting the 2x6 stringers that remain. Any remnants left behind by the cutter were taken care of with a 40 grit flapper wheel on an angle grinder. That made quick work of smoothing it also.

I was gonna glass all of this back in tomorrow but I think I'll give it a couple of days to dry out while I pimp the trailer. The back half of the stringers were soaked where ever they weren't rotted. Both of them busted in half at the motor mounts location getting them out. I'm glad I went through this. The plywood on the floor of the hull is wet also. In fact, now that they are not sealed there is water trickling out. So I'll let them dry out for a few days. I gave a tug to see if they would lift out but they are stuck. The matting that was on them peeled right off. I put the stringers on the scale, another 40 pounds removed and maybe 10 will go back in.

James was kinda in a hurry when I came by but u might think abiut puttin some flow coat on the floor they have it in gray.  It would keep that floor from taking in water under the carpet. Also u going to run a rail kit now or go back in like it  was          James what do u need welded  let me know.

If I were you I would replace the entire stringer instead of doing the back half . Don't cost much more and you are already there .

This is Junk Yard Dog. I have a used Ford 3 point mount I scored for $50. That's what's going in it. I like the look of glass laid well on the wood. If I can get that look done right I will go with it.

Going with this method.

Right where I cut it is where the bottom of the stringers begin to curve up for the front of the hull. I'd rather not deal with cutting a curve to replace wood that's fine and gonna be covered with carpet and a bulkhead anyway. Only the area around the motor mount holes were bad. One foot in front and one foot behind were solid. It just looks like crap for all the bed liner sprayed in it. But like I said, that part will be covered.

Did you get your boat wet today?

Yep , I dripped a few gallons of sweat all over it  :smile30: boat is pretty much ready , but I still need to get the headers welded . I spent the day today going over everything and moving the fuel pump and MSD box to the transom instead of being mounted on the motor . Also redid the coil mounts again , and rerouted the wiring harness for the MSD .
