Not trying to butt in but............. It was my business in selling engine parts for 30 years, that machine shops do the work requested of them. They do not normally clean, flush and prep for final build unless requested and your charged for it. Anytime I get a block back I is washed with solvent based cleaners, then detergent...... use stiff bristle brush in cyls. and then use pressure washer in ll oil ports....... and stiff round brushed in holes in crankshaft.....Then use compressed air to blow out all galleys and passages.
Maybe this was done??
