Cool, get them to the machine shop and get them worked. How much you want for the old yellow ones? Eveything is fixable.

They're going to the machinist tomorrow. The heads really look good!!! They really just need a good cleaning and a "going through". I'll get him to reseat the valves etc.

This timing set will mount straight up and be just fine on a cruiser motor.

That's the one that has the smog timing take out??

They pretty much all do. If you see three keyways it has +4. -4, and straight up. That's a nice chain set for a cruiser motor that's affordable.

i believe thats similar to the one i put one mine  :smile17:

Okay, cool.

I went to the website and saw that the timing sets are year specific. The set that James posted was for motors 1968-1973.....I'm not sure what year my motor is...... though I do have the 385 series block. Does that matter?

yes, D0VE-C heads....

I know this stuff might seem logical and simple to y'all....but us engineer types analyze stuff to death.....trying not to miss a minute detail that'll come back and bit us in the arse later. Know what I mean?

and there is a stamp on the block to identify it's year,  man my memory is getting bad,  but i think it's down by the pan on the back on one side or the other
