Edit:: I was serious on the floatation being higher in the boat then the boat would be lower in the water if it was swamped though.

With all the flotation in the bottom they tend to capsize when they sink.  Most jet's end up nose up anyway with all the weight from the motor and pump in the back.

That's the whole idea. If your boat's that low in the water you're screwed anyway, but the boat's not sinking or capsizing. It's just sitting low in the water and can still be towed in.

You can see the life jackets and cooler and crap floating in the back if the boat. It never went under, just to here. Our boats need mega flotation in the back to hold level like that.
Well if the gas tanks are empty they can act as floatation devices

I ordered a gallon of the floatation foam #2

http://www.aeromarineproducts.com/boat-foam.htm

Also ordered another 1 1/2 gallons of Epoxy.....about $50 cheaper than at West marine.

James...where did you get your hidden cleats from?

If you read through this thread there is a guy who makes the composite systems who posted there . He posted his phone number in the tread a little ways down the page , you might try giving him a call to discuss the options for your boat .

Those are not the Cleats I have. There are no screws visible from outside the boat they are bolted from the underside. Something like this... http://www.attwoodmarine.com/store/product/neat-cleat
They are spring loaded, press down and release the cleat pops up, press down again and the cleat stays retracted.

Just messing with ya brother. That stuff is supposed to be awesome, will not rot ever. I never heard of it till after I was done with my stringers or it would be in my boat.

I don't even know where to get it. I searched where SPD directed me to go and couldn't find what he was talking about.

EDIT: I did find the link he posted but nothing over on Screamnfly.

Anybody hear of "composite stringers"?? If so, where do you get them??

You could use some of those cardboard tubes that toilet paper comes on. Once they are glassed in they should be plenty strong for that blue oval power you have.  Maybe leave one square of paper on them to up the strength a little since that engine will be a fresh build.

Not really concerned with the weight reduction......I just don't ever want to have to do this crap again.....

As it is, Jacob has dibs on the Crusader when I kick the bucket (in the next five years according to him, lol) ....I don't want him to have to redo these stringers ever again..... lol.

I guess, based on his comments, shouldn't do anything to preserve the floors and just barely put them in so he has to replace them right after my schedule "kick off".....lol.

The kid is a little turkey, I swear. Lol.

What I did on mine was made a very efficient drain system under the floor. As long as the water gets out the wood will never rot either. The factory drains on mine were about the size of a pencil and probably had been plugged for years. You can use wood and it will last, just make sure the water can get out.
