Ok before all you guys give me a rash of shyte i am looking for some real info on my 496.
I know there are many variables to a motor combo but lets say the motor has everything I was told it did on the inside and it is all good and reusable. I have a 496 BBC that seems tight. Has a steel crank Beam rods solid roller do not know lift or piston type. The motor so say is running 11.0:1 CR. What would it take to make an 800 ish HP pump gas motor or is this even possible? I would say crank rods and pistons could stay I am sure new heads and cam would be in order and if this could happen what would be the best route to take to get there?
I am thinking about working it over and keeping it in the TX.
If pump gas is not an option then Race Fuel it is as this boat will not be the everyday driver. just would be nice not to have to carrying fuel around.
