A pump with a view

5400 RPM - 57 MPH. I guess it is what it is. I'm starting to think all these guys saying they picked up 10 MPH with the energizer kit might be using the butt meter instead of a GPS. I have yet to talk to anyone who has done that conversion and has actual before and after numbers. I know this is not an energizer kit but it is certainly close to the same thing.
The one thing I have noticed with this converted pump is that low speed steering and reverse has really been compromised. The boat was much easier to control off plane with the stock YJ. I am thinking that would be a big plus for the Ambassador especially when it comes time to load and unload from the trailer. For that reason alone I think I am still going to put the stock YJ in the big boat and leave this converted pump in the Rebel.
On the positive side, I got to see what a great machinist can do, I spent some time talking shop with EO, I learned a lot about thrust bearings and I got to see first hand how THB members help each other out. :smile17:

EO and JJ are a couple of good guys to know if you own a boat . they both have helped me a lot with my boating stuff .. Good people to know for sure !!

Went back out to Lavon last night. The water was much better than it has been. Had a best of 59.7 That is .1 better than my old best. Yes that is a point in front of the one. LOL. At least I am back to where I was. I could feel the same vibration start at that speed. I think it's a cavitation issue. I gues it's time for a loader. I have one but I am kinda scared of it. There just is not much area on the runner welds. I'm going to get the local jet guru's to look at it before I install it.
