A pump with a view

I have zero expectations.  After talking to Tom, this is not actually an energizer kit.  He believes it is a short lived conversion put out by Aggressor.  There was nothing wrong with the kit there just isn't any numbers from anyone else running this conversion for comparison.  Time will tell.

Man what a disappointing day at the lake.  I lost 3 MPH, 600 to 800 RPM and the hole shot is completely gone.  No matter what I tried 56.8 was the best MPH I could get.  It ran 59.6 with the stock YJ.  I did not tune any on the motor but this is the same tune that yielded 58 MPH with the stock YJ in the boat just 3 days ago.  I don't see any amount of tuning motor or pump that will get me even close to the10 MPH gain that was the low side of expectation from an energizer kit.  I know this is not an energizer kit but what ever this conversion is, the Rebel does not like it.  At least with the stock YJ I could kill them out of the hole.  That stock YJ bowl can't get here fast enough after today's results.

Well that sux... Probably why it was a "short-lived" conversion deal...

Energizer kit actually changes it over to a Berk bowl & accessories if I'm not mistaken. George(Pro53) here on the boards has one on his YJ in his Omega, you could hit him up about it for details if you were thinking about going that way in the future....

Right now the plan is to put it back like it was and leave it a 60 MPH boat.  After the results from this conversion I just can't see spending 2K on the energizer kit and possibly getting the same or very similar results.  They are very similar kits the main difference being the bowl appears to be an aggressor 9 vane instead of one from AT.  If I stumble upon a used energizer kit for $500 or so I might be tempted to try it.  For now, once the replacement gets here, I'll put the YJ bowl back on and go back to kickin everyone's A$$ out of the hole.  LOL.

After talking to Tom he feels like this is probably an Aggressor "A" impeller.  He said the Aggressor "A" is more like a "AA".  Guess I am going to have to pull this bowl and see what it actually has in it.  Anyone local to Dallas got a "B" laying around I can test with?

OK.  I took the pump back out of the Rebel.  It is definitely an Aggressor bowl and impeller.  I have not been able to get the nut off yet but I can see what appears to be an "A" peaking out from behind the nut and possibly another "A" next to that.  Either way It seems like this is too much impeller for my boat.  Can anyone identify this bowl and impeller from the pics?

Got the nut off.  (Get your mind out of my gutter Cliff  LOL)  It is actually an Aggressor "AA".  Guess that explains the RPM drop.

yeah....lemme go see what I have...and it still bogged it down that much, man, that's a lot of pump!!

If you have something Duane it would get to me quicker.  Tom is checking to see if he has a good used AT or Dominator "A".  I'd like to get this thing back together this week so I can test it again this weekend before going to broken Bow on the 4th.  I thought about putting a "B" in it but I am afraid of turning the poncho too many RPMs.  I'd like to keep it around 5K no more than 5500.

Yeah, That thing is too expensive to rebuild.  I gotta make it last a while this time.  It should live for quite a while under 5.5K  I might be ok with a "B"  It was turning that worn out "AA" around 4300.  Let me know what you got when you get it checked out.
