What rockers are the other BBF guys running?  I'm surprised some of the regulars in here like Duane & David have not commented yet.

David had ProComp heads on his old motor, may have had ProComp rockers too. He swears if you buy the bare heads and have a machine shop stuff em right they are great heads. There's no doubt they flow good, just a lot of chatter on the 460Ford boards that they are NOT ready to run out of the box. Believe me, I went back ond forth with it, almost bought them about six times till I had the $$$$ for the Ford heads.

I imagine the Ford rockers built for those heads will be the right ones. Probably the unequal length Ford pushrods built for those heads are at the house now.

EDIT" The Ford Racing factory unequal length pushrods were waiting when I got home.
No it doesnt have procomp rockers he spent the money and got a nice set of comp rockers. And yes you made the right choice on the heads!!!!! My procomps barley flowed better than stock unported DOVE heads before i worked them.

Did a little motor work today. Got the cam in and a piston in the #1 hole to check the intake valve clearance which is an issue using my heads on a decked block with 2404 pistons. My block has not been decked and have read it's all good, but still it would be best to double check.

Soooooooo, I popped the intake valve spring using my PITA valve spring compressor. Put the head up to the block.. Oops, wrong valve, need to do the other end.. LOL. Redeployed the PITA valve spring compressor and got the right one changed to a Traxxas coilover spring. Works great. Plenty of tension to keep the valve up but not enough to let the lifter compress. Sweet....

Let's throw in a Ford Racing push rod, a Lunati lifter and tighten down a stock rocker arm @.020 lash and give her a spin.. VooDoo sets in..

THE STOCK ROCKERS ARE PEDASTAL MOUNTED!!! EXPLETIVE, EXPLETIVE, EXPLETIVE!! Didn't even look before today. LOL

Try again in a couple of days when the "now necessary" Ford racing rockers arrive.

Pic 1: Ford racing timing set installed straight up.
Pic 2: Piston in the #1 hole below the deck at TDC.
Pic 3: Traxxas coilover spring mounted to the #1 intake valve.

Dude, that's a FAT intake valve man!!

Okay, when you first started talking this VooDoo cam stuff, the first thing that came to mind was this Air Force jet fighter....and whenever I read it, this is what I think about...lol. My mind is still skyward at times.

That looks like the military aviation bone yard out in Arizona. Used to live not far from it.

It is....Davis Monthan AFB.

The closest Texas Road House to where we lived was right outside the gate to Davis Monthan AFB. Used to hit that place up monthly. It was always cool to see all those old planes out there.

Some of the jets I flew on are in the desert now. I'll post up a few pics.

Sorry to jack your thread..lol.

Here's my favorite jet that I flew on back in the day the Lockheed ES-3A Sea Shadow.....my name used to be painted on the side of her. I've been to sea with this plane on four different Aircraft carriers..The Kitty Hawk, Nimitz, Abraham Lincoln and the Carl Vinson and was deployed to the middle east twice with her.

and here's where she sits now

This actually turned out to be quite difficult to find, but scored one from California. The water block off plate for a 460. I thought they were all the same. The one I got from Jegs wasn't even close. Anyway, the HEI will fit without clearance issues now.

Probably for the best. Now I'm gonna go with these. A couple advantages. Don't open as far which will help the piston to valve clearance, and they are made of 8650 chromemoly steel..... done.
