I'm trying to sell parts to buy a set myself, almost had the money, but the guy backed out on the Chevy sell.  Oh well someone will need these parts and I'll get my P51's

not gonna mess with the Trickflows huh? you should update your Sanger thread with your build intentions. Bound to be some good info.

The cost difference between the a460 and p51's are very small, but the a460's will destroy the p51's (in a jetboat application). Both need custom pistons and both can run standard crane gold rockers but the a460's come with good valves and spring package for a SR cam. Finding a nice set of used ported a460's can be had for about $2000. If i was to build a 800-1000hp single carb stroker i wouldn't use anything but a460's, best bang for the buck by far!

heres a few of the hemi heads. Heads are the big one on the motor to the left (intake is for smaller hemi heads) Heads are the Roberts B441, building a 598 twin turbo deal.

According to the Kaase website you do not need custom piston, or any special intakes or exhaust manifold.  And I have only found one set of a460 heads and they were north of $2000.00 as you stated, they were priced at $4,000.00.  I'm very intereseted in your statement that these heads out perform P-51 heads on a jet boat application.  Could you point me in the right direction as to where you are getting your information and where I could possibly buy a set of a460 heads for $2,000.00.  Thanks, Diamondjim

I'm sure he is talking about going prices for used parts.  Usually I tend to value used parts at half the cost of new myself.  And that would make both of y'alls numbers about right.

P51's have the valves moved and will not work with factory style pistons. A top of the line single four intake (TFS mafia) for the P51's will run you the same price as a new style TFS A460 intake. P51's use BBF headers and the A460's use BBC headers. I would say that fully ported (not custom one off stuff) that the A460's would be worth a solid 100+hp over the P51's and the bigger CI you go it would go up alot! A nicely ported A460 head will go 460+/340+ cfm @ .800 lift, I've heard of high doller ones going close to 500 cfm!
