WTB Lookn for a classic datsun truck

I know this isnt boat related, but I am on a mission to find my next project. What I am looking for is an old "bullet side" Datsun king cab mini truck. I really dont care about condition, the uglier the better. So if any of yall happen to see one sitting in a field, or behind a house, please keep me in mind, and if I can strike a deal with the owner, I will gladly give a finders fee.

Lil as possible  :smile13: I would like to keep it under $2k. And if it much over $1500 it should be in good shape, ie. no rust.

The plan is to restore one rat rod style, with flat paint, mexican blankit interior, white walls and hub caps, (or maybe some 14x6 slots  :smile15 and be bagged and body dropped.

Also have Greg get the # to the wrecking yard that has all the old stuff buy his house. Tell him its the one me and Nick stopped at. Lots of old vehicles out there.

I gotcha, found a few on Craigslist, haven't found any of the extended cab versions yet. You wanting to keep it old enough to have the round headlights? Think they went to the square lights in late 70s-early 80s....

I have found a few on craigslist, but none of them are the ext cab version. They even have one on craigslist that is a dually. It used to be a camper, but they pulled the camper part off and put on a flat bed. LOL

Seems like you can pick up a good "project" for around $500. Its just that the king cab is a lil harder to find.

Yea, i am wanting the round headlights. I think they changed to the square lights in 1980.

How difficult would it be to stretch the cab, if you had to do it.... Too much hassle?

That one was sold on the dallas craigslist about a month ago for $3000. Guess the guy wanted to try to make a quick $500
