PHOENIX AND BEYOND 3.0

I made it to the Red Roof Inn in Van Horn no issues. 610 miles in 9.5 hours. Pulling the BAJA again. I'm in the room eating dinner I brought with me. More Later.

Be in Phoenix around 4 tomorrow. I have covered storage lined up from last year.  We will hit Havasu Wednesday afternoon. I rented a slip at the London Bridge Resort so we will launch the boat Wednesday afternoon. Thursday is the street party, Friday is the Poker Run, Saturday is the Shoot Out. Friday night is a party at River Dave's house or a beach party at the West end on the channel. Saturday night is River Dave's big bash with a band and free drinks. I want to trailer down to Parker one day.  So much to do, so little time.

Oh, and let me tell you about the WIND!!!!!!! 30 mph at least and I had to drive straight into it. 10.0 mpg so far. Diesel is $2.50/gal. It never let up, even tonight.

Were headed to the Tickfaw 200 Thursday. It sucks Desert Storm and the Tickfaw are on the same weekend this year.. Have fun!

Got two things accomplished today.

1. Boat washed and waxed. Topped off oil bath bearings. Tightened ubolt nuts that hold axle in place. That kind of surprised me, that a few were loose.
2. Went to liquor store to get supplies for the weekend. Going to make jello shots. It's easier to make friends when you offer jello shots.

Good catch on the ubolts. That could have been ugly.

Launched the boat around 4 pm. Ran south to Springs Marina and back. 40 miles total.

Met a guy from Vegas in a blue Bahner. He had 3 really nice ladies with him. None of them were older than 19.

After dark we left the channel and putted over to the Turtle for snacks and drinks. Left there around 9 and tied the boat up at the LBR.

It was a great cruising day. Not a lot of big boats on the water.

More later. Oh, boat ran great!!!! That's always good news. And, all the lights and gauges work. I don't get to use the lights much.
