:smile26: Dang!!!!! Can't get away with anything around here. I'm in Blythe Ca. now waiting for my friends to show up. The water is so low we can't launch here at the Cove RV Resort. Got to my daughters house in Phoenix Thursday afternoon. Another uneventful trip out here.

What were you doing out here????

Visiting my son I'm Tucson. When we saw you we were on our way to the race track in Vado. My grandson was just given a full ride sponsorship driving a mod lite race car. We were taking it there to get him some seat time and dial in the car for this weekend. As you were driving by my son pointed you out and said "check that out!" He freaked out when I told him I knew you. LOL!

That's so cool. As I was leaving Phoenix today a guy I know, through the people I met here at the Cove, pulls up along side me and waves. That, and now you saw me. Small world.

Yup, pretty cool. Tonight we are practicing at Central Arizona Speedway just outside of Phoenix for his big race tomorrow .

Getting ready for the big race tonight.  Possible sponsor is flying in from Austin today to watch Boddie race. If he likes what he sees he may hire him to drive a sprint car he is building. Wish us luck.

Well all the traveling for a little seat time paid off. Boddie (my grandson) won both the heat race and the main which is pretty good since this is a totally new car to him. This is only the second time he has ever raced it and the first time he got 3rd over all. A guy flew in from Austin just to watch him race and now wants to hire him to drive a new 305 Wing Sprint car he is building. I could not be more proud of him!! Here is a short video of the restart after a caution flag with about 5-6 laps left. At the time of the restart he was in 3rd. It is short because the battery on my phone died but before it was over he had a full straight away lead on the second place car.

Thanks Steve. Yes he is very talented and I believe he has a promising future ahead of him. Even if I might be a little bias. It was fun to watch him.

I guess I will continue my narrative of the current trip on this thread since it started here.

How things change. My Cove RV Resort friends will not be coming out this weekend due to unscheduled events. I was bummed about that and cancelled my reservation at the Cove.

River Dave is having a big deal at the London Bridge Resort in Havasu this weekend. On a whim I sent him a PM asking if it was to late to attend. He called me and said "just get here Friday and we will work out the details". He also invited me to ride with him and his family Saturday in the Poker Run.  Lo and behold I got a room at the LBR at the special group rate. I will be sure to take a ton of pics. I went from bummed out to really excited about this weekend in a matter of two hours.

I won't take the CP because it's not really suited for Havasu.

Dave had a nice little street party. Some big boats and a few small ones. Some vendors also. Before the street party I walked around the docks looking at the boat that were already here. These folks take pontoon boats to a whole new level. Pics to follow.

First and second pic are the half million dollar pontoon boats. You will notice the blue one has twin merc 450's on it. 80 mph in a 30' pontoon.
Third and fourth pic is a beautiful twin turbo Schiada. The trailer is missing one axle, they usually sit on a triple axle trailer, lol.
Fifth is of a fuel injected Mandella.
Sixth is a twin turbo owned by a 80 year old guy. He's had it for two years and never driven it. Says his sons have a couple of times. It has a few leaks where the shaft passes thru the hull.

I'm going to help Dave launch his Hallett, then the rest of the day is gonna be busy. Pics when I can.

Great day on the water. After the helo photo shoot we headed South to the Springs for lunch. There was a poker run also. Then back thru the channel to the LBR.At 6 we had a prime rib buffet dinner. Then out to the docks for more partying. Another party starts at 10 pm inside.  I doubt I will make that.
