I bet they are few & far between from all the bitching about them I read on RD's, lol. That is one thing about a jet, can get back to places like that where them dock crushers can't go without dragging all the underwater hardware off.

Very few wake board boats. Mostly low profile jets and a few vdrives. Water level can change over the course of a day and there are a lot of sand bars and gravel/rock bars. You have to learn to read the river. Friday it was to low to launch at the Cove. Saturday morning the water was up 4 ft and we launched. By Saturday afternoon it was up another 2'. Sunday was up all day. The farmers water on Friday and earlier in the week also.

This pic is the launch ramp on Friday afternoon.

Friday seems to be the day the farmers use the most water. Saturday and Sunday were fine.

I went to Blythe again last weekend and stayed at the Cove. Saturday we went up river and Sunday we trailered the boats down to McIntyre Park then went 11 miles downriver to some nice sandbars. There are a lot of sandbars and it would be very difficult to navigate this river if you didn't  know where they are. Some are 6" to a foot deep. Were were back and forth from one side of the river to the other. Rob has been coming out here for 30+ years and knows the river well.

Pics tomorrow.

Pics. Took a little side trip Saturday morning. Saw these wind machines.

The last pic is me saying goodbye to the river till next spring. The pics of Laughlin next weekend should be more interesting. There is one pic the site will not let me post, I get that "failed fraud detection" message, weird.

I made it to the Pioneer Hotel and Gambling Hall in Laughlin. If you get the chance to stay here, don't. It's quite worn out. I would have preferred the Avi about 5 miles down river. I'm having a Jack and coke maybe that will help. My room AC unit sounds like a diesel idling. The room does have a river view though.

Oh well, the river looks great and the launch ramp is 5 minutes away.

I think the words they're using for that nowdays are "rustic" and/or "vintage"...  :smile16: Hard to beat the view. Jack & coke bound to help though. Speaking of which, Carole had a drink at a place in Stafford this weekend called a Tennessee Tribute, was a Jack & coke frozen, like a Slurpee. Pretty good.

i'm back in Phoenix. Had a great time and met some great people. The Pioneer still sucks. I won't stay there again. No fridge or microwave. Primitive. I'll post pics tomorrow. About 30 boats showed up Saturday. This was the last event of the year for SoCal. Sunday it was only me and another boat at the same beach.

It's pretty brisk. I go in but don't stay in for long. Probably in the mid 70's. I'm still getting used to being able to see the bottom and be in 15' of water. We drifted across a rock bar (not a sand bar) and the guy next to me fired up and got two rocks in his pump. Messed up his inducer and impeller and nicked up the inside of the bowl. He was really pissed because he "knows" that part of the river well.
The only negative so far is the amount of jet skis. They rent them up and down the river and these people have no knowledge of water safety. They are like gnats and just as irritating. We tried to float awhile when we got to the dam but gave up because of all the jet skis coming to close for comfort.

I made it to the Nautical no problems. The internet here is sketchy at best. We will see later how easy it is the connect. The room is nice and is cove front with a nice fridge/freezer and coupons for free ice. Pics  are view from the room balcony.

The water has a lot of calcium. The boat doesn't get dirty but the water spots need attention  constantly.
