Is that the nitrous button in his left hand??  He held that button down for almost 40 seconds.

The Shelby video is too clinical.  The Hennessey video makes you feel like anybody can do 200 in a Vette just about anywhere. 

On a side note, I'd like to see them try the Vette test on the same road in about 5 years...

Regarding the switch in his left hand I saw this posted?

"Its a nx 100 shot of nitrous on a push button. He holds it from about 145 mph and let's off at 200."

I think it's funny the Mustang is with in a few MPH and no nitrous! And yes, that video wont be happening in five years! :smile30:

I watched the first video of the corvette,  and the mustang video twice,  I believe there is no argument that the mustang would break the 200 mile an hour threshold on the same road  :smile16:

I don't think the corvette would be any competition for the mustang,  keeping it apple to apples comparison,  I'm just saying  :grin:

Keep in mind they didn't use the fast Corvette with the blower motor, it's actually not even out yet. The HPE500 is naturally aspirated 6.2 at 450hp stock bumped up to 500hp with tuning. The supercharged Stang has 160 more hp and it slower. Looks to me like the goal was 200 and they stopped. Pretty sure a Vette's got more than that. The blown Vette wouldn't even be a close race with a Stang.

Check this vid out. Bone stock Shelby GT500 vs. Camaro ZL1 with the motor that will be in a ZR1 Vette. The best of Ford and GM BLOWER motors right here. Despite the driver saying the Mustang feels faster, the lap time was 2 seconds faster with the Camaro.

When the ZR1 comes out, it is rumored that it will have a blown LS9 pushing 638hp out of the box.

Correction, that was an HPE600 Vette that went 200, still naturally aspirated.
