Next year you guys need to go with us!

Maybe there will be some places with gas by then. Not sure I'd trust mine to make that long of a run without some place to refuel.

There was fuel at a couple of the stops. You guys could always ride with us! There was no shortage of available seats! :smile17:

I would like to thank everyone for participating in the 3rd annual Texas Hot Boats/S&J Fun Run. We had a great time! Especially the sponsors, S&J Racing and Marine, American Brick&Stone, Scott's Contracting, 1-2-Tree, Kirkland Marine, RHM Photography, for all the great photos. The winner took home $1200. What a great time!

Been busy all day but it was a great weekend!! We both had a blast and got to see a lot more of the lake than we ever have before. Congrats to Steve and Eva and a big thanks to all involved in putting the run on!! Can't wait till next year.

I think my wife may have had more fun then I did and that's quite a statement! Everything was top notch. My boat died about 3/4 of the way to Steele Creek and David gave me a tow in. Patch and Philip quickly diagnosed a stuck needle seat and afterwards was a great day of boating. I've never been to the lake and it was great to see. The raft up was a blast, water was just cool enough not to be cold. Stacey did a great job organizing. Saturday night was great hanging out with everyone. If only we had one extra diamond ! Congrats to Eva for the win !

Patch I assume the parts of the lake you'd never seen was your detour over into the trees ?

Here are few videos

Those trees are everywhere .. Have to be careful out there .. They need to put some Channel markers out on the lake and river part so we can stay away from the trees .. Glad no one hit anything ..

Channel markers on that lake would be a very good idea!!  I'm always nervous running out there not know the lake very well!!

The run from Indian Lodges to Steele Creek was the most unnerving for me. My boat has a steering skeg so I'm always extra leery anyway, on top of never having been on the lake. I agree channel markers would be great !

I've never understood that lake for not having marked some of the trees.  There are large trees in very unexpected places and only show when the water is lower at times.  When I'm talking unexpected, it is wide areas with trees in the middle of what appears to be the lake.  I assume there was someone in the group who knew the lake well enough to know where they are.

Many of the trees show all the time, but not all.

That's pretty cool. Why does it say "Not for navigation" at the bottom though, lol... crazy.gif

Charts can come handy, but according to this chart The Lake Whitney Country Club Airport is located in about 50 feet of water.  I guess it's for seaplanes.
