I hear ya. I've not had to spanking my kids in months!! I spanked my son back in January for back talking the teacher but all it took was one time. It wasn't an ass beating by any means, just some corrective guidance.
I'm with ya Helln, some folks like your dad do take it overboard with the beatings. I remember as a kid my folks whooping my sister and I "just in case" we thought about misbehaving one evening. I was seven and I still think negatively about that experience. To me that was a useless punishment.
A two year old should get "maybe" one swat on a leg to get their attention. By no means should they get hit hard enough to leave a lasting mark.
