WTB low profile scoop for a Day cruiser

I'm going to be replacing my Holley 750 carb for a higher profile Demon 850 carb. As a result, my engine cover will not be able to close as the lid will be resting on top of the carb. So as a result, I'll have to cut a hole in my engine lid. Since I have to cut a hole, I might as well put a nice yellow (or chrome) low profile scoop that rises just above the cushion and fabric on the lid. That would look great.

Any suggestions?? Anyone have something like what I am looking for that is for sale?? Below is what I am kind of looking for......but I am open for suggestions.

Cliff...

I have a raised fiberglass insert for a deck lid. It is off of a Taylor LP.
Call me if you are interested in seeing it.

That doesn't look bad at all.

You are looking for something that will attach to the engine hatch correct, not something that stays on the engine?

I thought that it might be easier to open and lower the engine lid if the scoop was attached to the lid versus the carburator itself. I'm not very experienced in this area, do you think that it would be a good idea to attach the scoop to the lid instead of the carb?

It would simplify your hatch config! :smile30:

I think I'd have to do a little upholstery work but once that is done....it should look pretty good.

Has anyone seen or have any pictures of a Mini Day cruiser with a scoop on the engine cover like what I'm describing?

Sure, seems that way to me as well so I don't see why not? I think it would make for an easier & probably cleaner installation to have the scoop on the lid.

Ya, I think you're right. This way I could also use the Spark arrestor too without worrying about trying to configure that as well.

Here's a link to another nice looking scoop on an engine cover.
