Working on Saturdays

I haven't had to work on a weekend since I retired from the Navy in January 2005!! Today I'm stuck in the proposal room writing a proposal for a short fused (we need it yesterday) bid........ Not fun at all. I'd rather be getting the Crusader ready for the lake but this job pays the fuel bill for it and without it, I'd be on the beach watching all the cool jet boats roosting off in the distance. Lol.

I'd better get back to work!!!!!

Ya, when you're in the service/sales industry to the public, Saturdays are lucrative. The Federal gov't rarely (I mean very rarely) works on the weekend. Unfortunately this bid is to a foreign military customer so Saturdays are the norm for these sorts of deals.

I haven't worked a Saturday in a pretty good while myself... Carole had to go in half a day or so, so figured I'd come in & grab some OT myself... Gotta pay for them toys ya know....

Legal Beagle, wasn't that the name of the bar in Three's Company? Oh wait, that was the Regal Beagle, never mind... lol, kidding... lol

Anyway, thats cool ya got that on the side for some boat coin... Salary can be nice, but no OT. What I'm getting today probably won't amount to much, but I've been thinking about making some changes to the boat. Little extra $$$ be nice if any of that comes around.

I had to work today, flew 11 people offshore and had a fuel indicator go tits up, made a precautionary landing, off loaded my paxs and flew it back to the beach.  Watched a Harrison Ford adventure movie, two Clint Eastwood Movies and ended up a Chilies for dinner.  I knows it's not the most glamorous job, but it pays the bills. Remember I'm a pilot, I'm more afraid of work than I am of death.

I absolutely HATE working on fuel quantity systems!  They can be a real pain!  :smile15:
