Good luck with the ankle.  I had a horse break mine two years ago and still is not right.  Stay off of it as much as you can!

Took the day cruiser to Sommerville yesterday and took some photos of Knotty Girl doing test runs.  Went back to Sommerville today with the Liberator, it just started to clean out when it backfired thought the carburetors and caught fire.  Pulled the scoop and used my shirt (soaked in lake water) to put the fire out.  Ran the battery down trying to get it started.  Rowed back to the ramp.  When I got her home, I cleaned the inside with dawn and hot water and put her in the shop.  I have a crap load of stuff that I am storing for my mother in law, and by the time I got everything stacked back in the shop, I started to smell gas, really strong.  Looked under the boat and noticed a puddle of liquid, it was gas and it was coming out of the center drain.  I just cleaned and dried the inside of the boat, where was this gas coming from? Upon further investigation I noticed a stream of gas coming from the fuel line running under the motor. I pinched the lines off to stop the fuel.  It seems the line had contacted the starter ring and been cut, this allowed air to enter the system and lean out the motor, thus the back fire and the motor dying.  The crazy thing is I have braided fuel lines and a fly wheel cover, but I was waiting to install them when I pulled the motor for polishing and final paint.  Oh well I guess I'm lucky I didn't burn down the whole rig.

Got my ol Placecraft down to the bare hull. Going to flo-coat the floor, changing to center steer, so new throttle mounts, new seat mounts, new shifter mounts, new dash plate, some new gauges, powder coating intake and all the hardware while its out, doing a carbon fiber wrap on the seat bracket, shifter mounts, and dash plate, and a fab alum custom fuel tank, oh and a complete re-wire.

Hoping for a new(to me) boat. If not rebuilt the old carberator, change fuel line, change the fluids and light em!!!

Sent the Liberator to the Shop to trace down a short I created somehow.  Don't know how I could short out all the Gauges by just replacing a battery.

I don't know.  I'm so bad with electricity, I'm only allowed to plug in small appliances around our house.
