You guessed it, the boat we are pulling in has a GM power plant.

I Have!  But really who cares, most of us build an engine (drivetrain) and push it to the limits.  This is called racing (or side by side tuning).  Regardless of what you brung, something is eventually going to break, snap or pop.  :smile30:

Just imagine how many cookie cutter boats you would have pulled in by now if they were all Ford powered.  You'd never get to enjoy your time at the lake for pulling boats in.  Let's not forget the reason you are in the Whaler instead of the Crusader.  ;)

As I recall my Outboard was the only boat out of the Lavon Crew that was in the water last week. Where were you?
Edit: Apologies!! I didn't catch the "Fard" part of your post the 1st time around.

Guess we have all forgotten about the Pontiac that had broken Mains on the block. Wasn't there a rebuild there not too long ago? Has that thing hit 65 yet? That's a lot of motor.

LOL.  But even with broken main webs it still ran just fine.  Hell Cliff's Ford just had a little ol scared up cylinder wall and it wouldn't even start.  The Rebel may never hit 65.  Looks like it is inching closer and closer to being chainsaw bait.

Came up in conversation today that the engine manufacturer of the boat being towed was merely assumed by the tug pilot.  There was never any confirmation from the boat owner.  Not even so much as a visual was done.  You know what they say about assuming.  Talk about bad Karma.  LOL.

The Chaparral in question is a 21.6 model.....and by looking at it's condition it's fairly new.....I also matched it up to the models advertised on various websites, including the Chaparral website......and discovered the boats are offered with two different brands of marine motors....Volvo and Mercury.....both of which are GM products. All this prior to my original post.

Karma???? Lol...
