As long as I can camp at Rocky, I'll motor to where ever the party is. I've crossed that lake a number of times, the only time it got my attention was when a storm was rolling in. It got windier than an ol folks home on chili nite! :smile26:

yes that is where the party has been for the event, we like to camp on the other side of the lake, however im not sure of the condition of the welch park ramp, now or what it will be like come late august.

i have an idea being, just thinking out loud, for some reason we cant have it at welch, i.e. the ramp there is closed we could cruize to yegua from rocky or overlook, nice beach there, and cool water and the park is closed due to construction which meant the only way there is by boat.

I'm not real familiar as to where the different parks are in relation to each other. How far a run is it from Rocky to Yegua? Used to be a pretty nice beach there, few years ago. I guess the water was down then too...

I'd do it. :smile30:

It is getting rain right now!  clap.gif

i hate to be a buzz kill but not really looking at the radar, we need like 5 inches of rain in an hour across the watershed for the lake, which is just north of Giddings up to around lexington, rockdale area, and i say 5 inches in an hour cause the first 3 or so are going to get soaked up like a sponge .

I have seen Somerville 8' low and it was not closed to boats. The last info I had was Yegua was first come first serve, no reservations. Rocky was closed for renovations.

When Rocky opens back up I assume they will both go back to the reservation system.

Right now it's about 4' low and falling.

Welch Park is on the North East side of the lake and Yegua is on the South East side. Rocky is West of Yegua. It's about 3 minutes by boat.
