Well folks, as many of you have noticed Greaser is not on here near as much as he used to be. normally by this time of the year were on our twentieth page of replies to the welchfest thread. i have tried to get ahold of Greaser to see if he still wants to throw WF since it was his party he started.  Bottom line wether he throws it, or others an I do, it will happen this august 20th at welch park at somerville.

That being said, Rocky Creek park where many of us camp is closed for an overhaul, pavement and electrical, and wont be open unitll middle of june at that time, the corps will close yegua park, so the bottom line is there are no reservations available at this time, supposedly some time towards the end of June  you shoud be able to make reservations a Rocky Creek park. once it is finished.

ill post up when you can make reservations at Rocky Creek

I live close by.  Somerville is my usual lake anyway.  I will be there, camp or not, doesn't matter.  I have missed it year after year because of misc issues... not happening this time.  I got 2 boats, at least 1 of them will surely be running....  Probably two, and can bring friends with the second boat too.  I love that lake, well, it's love-hate really, the freaking WIND!!!!, but anyway, will be there.  Soooo looking forward to it this summer (and other gatherings!)

we will be there for sure when you make a date we are always there its are favorite event. but we stay at big creek across the way from welch you can see the cabins we love it there lots of room cabins, camping,rv spots, etc. you own boat slip and you can put your boat in the water under your cabin a watch it and float also then take a short ride across the lake to welch and the waves is not bad at all and when it dose get ruff just hug the bank right to welch and its not ruff at all like that

That sounds like a plan right there. Wife and kid will like that.

I figure most people will camp, but for the case of those who can't or won't for whatever reason, there is a decent hotel in the town of Somerville, like 3-5 mins from the lake, and I think pet friendly.  Just FYI in case some people would come but need a hotel.

Americas Best Value Inn (Somerville)
18018 Sh 36 South
Somerville, TX US 77879

$60-$65 per night in August pretty sure.  REAL close to lake.
