460 ford. got a heck of a hesitation. got a guage on intake. runnin 18 psi at idle. when throttle is snaped pressure drops to zero? just put the guage on so don't think this normal? accelorator pump in carb? I would think there would be more vaccum? timing, plugs, wires, new coil, all good. any info would be good.

Normal vacum readings, high vacum idling with throttle blades closed, when throttle snapped open vacum drops. On a car  with stopped up cat. converters, vacum stays high when throttle opened. Is vacum steady or fluctuating? When you open throttle to about 2000 rpm, should drop & then level out if rpm`s held steady.

Yea it stays steady @ about 18psi. vacum drops to 0 at 2000 then comes back to 18.could hesitation be from jet load/snail exhaust? maybe time for a carb rebuild haven't done that in two years and I've seen some pretty nasty pix of marine carbs?

Could be in your carb, check the accelerator pump shot, with engine off, look in carb throat & mash throttle, should get two streams of fuel thru pump nozzle.
