Trim tab question...

I am still putting together my boat.  It was gutted and disassembled when I got it.  I have the original trim tabs that were on it.  I notice that hardly any boats have these things.  I already replaced the transom, so I don't know how they were mounted.  Should I put these back on or wait and see how the boat handles when I get it in the water?  Thanks in advance.

I don't see why you couldn't try it without them.  I would think a properly applied diverter would correct just about any pitch attitude of the boat.  :smile30:  $.02

I agree, I think I would try them without first.  What kind of boat is that?  :smile21:

It's a '72 Pioneer.  It came with a 455 Olds, and a Berkeley pump.  It came with a Place diverter.

No ride plate on the pump.  I am leaning toward putting the tabs on.  I figure the factory knew what they were doing.  I guess they should be level with the bottom.
