Trailer build

I know this is not a boat build but it is boat related.  I am building a trailer for the pit cart I bought from Horsepower Junkie. I figured I would whip this out in now time, I have two days in it and am only half way through.  I priced these at Tractor Supply and thought no way was I spending $1200 for a little trailer.  Now I am wondering if that would not have been a better idea.  think.gif  Na, this one will be stronger and better built I think.  :smile16:

Better built "I think" he says... lol

Ya, they are proud of those little trailers at TSC & they only go up elsewhere. Should be a fun little project.

Just went and bought tires and wheels that match the hydro trailer, ouch $300.  When it is all said and done I might have close to $1200 in it just in materials.  :smile20:

What you gonna deck it with? The large expanded metal like 1/4 thick with the big hole say 2 1/2'' will make that sucker stout as hell plus using the expanded metal will give you unlimited tie down options!  I made a 5x8 like what your doing with expanded metal and its hell for stout!

I guess what I'm trying to suggest is that you never know about ol Henry.  It could turn out swank or, low down ghetto.  You just can't figure him.  LOL

Just kidding buddy.

I will have chrome fenders and curb feelers and a brass pole with lights around it.  bling.gif  :smile22:  Now for serious I will use treated 2X6.

It would sound like this is your first project, but I'm sure it's not.
I don't recall the last time I took on a boating project, partly to save money that I didn't end up with more in it than I could have hired it done.

I do usually end up with a spare or two though, and more air miles on the credit card.
At least when you need a repair part later, you know where to get it.
I probably shouldn't even mention the Bridgeport mill that I justify having to save $75.00, so I don't have to pay a machine shop to make a part.

Now I have a new problem axle is on it and now it is too wide to get into my garage.  Plus I need to find a place to paint it.  I would do that at the ranch but do not have a way to keep the horses off of it.  I guess I will build a temporary fence around it.  think.gif  I am a couple of days from that anyway. Going fishing today.  :smile16:

Sell the horses= more race stuff. Problem solved.

I got a call this morning from a guy looking for a horse.  I asked what flavor does he want.  I got it and it is for sale.  jump.gif
