Thanks Patch. From what I can gather, the fifth wire is connected to the reverse tail lamp and that's what disconnects the reverse lockout on the electric disc brakes.
I believe I've stayed at the same Holiday Inn Express before too. Lol. :smile17:

I have both types of trailer braking systems (electric and hydraulic) and the hydraulic is much more dependable and hassalfree, than the electric. We are constantly replacing parts on the electric system and it's on a horse trailer, we don't constantly submerge the system in water(ie boat ramp)
