THE BEACH ON LAKE BROWNWOOD

ok maybe i didnt make  what i was trying to say very clear.
i thnk what im trying to say is that the decible limit is enforced only by the lake patrol. Its not a LAW - its an ordinance.

Unless somebody out there has a decible meter then its up to him as to wether or not its too loud so dont worry too much abou0t it.

Lake Brownwood is alittle bit biff than nmost other lakes in texas

this from the brown county water improvement dist website
"Originally created by the Brown County Commissioner's Court in 1926, the District was converted to a Municipal Utility District in 1978 by Texas Water Commission order under Chapter 54 of the Texas Water Code, retaining its original name and the right of eminent domain."

This lake is owned and maintained by brown county- not the state. the game wardens are not as big a police force on the lake as the LAKE PATROL are.

crazy.gif  listen to the man that lives there. It doesn't sound like a problem. Check it out, have an event, have your ducks in a row, and have fun.    Don't over examine it.    jump.gif

Ok guys let's wait until spring comes and make a recon mission to Lake Brownwood. We need to give them a chance before we shoot em  down. Who knows we may be meet with open arms. You guys don't woory about noise or anything else until we check it out. It sounds like to me the owner is bending over backwards and jumping thru hoops to get us to come out. He can only control what he ia able to control,so let's give him a chance.

I just got off the phone with the owner of the park and trust me guys he wants us to come out and play. We have plenty of time so let's just wait and see this spring when we go out and check him out. He said they have had bike rally's, lawn mower pulls and many other events at the park. He said there was a lawn mower there last year with a 454 in it. We talked about some type of charitable event, that way it takes some heat off our backs. So let's see how this will develope and keep talking about what we could do to make this a great place to play at.

Also Bill & Brandon when it comes time to find a Charity you might look at " LONE STAR CASA INC "  CASA stand for court appointed special advocate.  They are a group that goes in to the court room and speaks on the best of interest of abused & neglected Kids.

They also do a huge  show and shine at harbor in Rockwall every yr and last year I ask them about having the HOT BOATS in it and they said YES FOR SURE.  Will post up when that time comes around Thanks      jump.gif

Neil and Bill : we need to make a day trip out there in early spring and check it out ..
We can take our  boats and see what the reaction will be , don't think either one of our boats will be under the required decible readings . but that is  a judgement call..I have never seen a peace office that had a decible machine with them . but been told they have been trained to tell if it is too loud ..  But I know our boat are legal  by TPWD rules ..

Maybe mid May or Mid June would work .. We can work something out to go check this lake out ..

When spring gets here , let get something lined up ..

For what it is worth, there probably isn't a performance boat that doesn't exceed the 85 db level at less than 50 feet even with mufflers.  Any law enforcement that tries to use the "it sounds to loud" when there is an established sound level, is blowing smoke and they know it.  Now, if there is an ordinance that includes "unreasonable" noise, you may be screwed.  Unreasonable is interpretation, but a set db level must be proven with a meter.  It is much like speed.  30 mph is 30 mph.  Reckless driving is interpretation.

An ordinance is is a municipal or a local law.

If the authorities seem to be OK with the type of boats we are dealing with, they know they are louder type boats and as long as we respect the locals and don't make hard passes next to their boat docks or run close to the people fishing, I think we should be OK.  I'll have mine there.  It is a blown 540BBC on e85 v-drive.  It is over the 85db limit.  I also have two sound meters, so I know.  I also only run it a short length of time each time.

Most officials aren't out just to give tickets, they actually are trying to protect the welfare of the general population.

I actually like the safety inspection idea.  If someone finds something not safe on mine, I want to know.  Of course, I am 100% lake legal, except for mufflers as far as I know.
