First thing first  Thxs for the kind works Cookieman "BILL".  I know you cant make everyone happy and things cant always be perfect but we are trying our best to make it happen.    Ok the boat ramp James and CLiff are talking about yes you can put in there and its does have docks.  BUT  I will say this!  IF you plan on not driving your truck back to 429 marina the marina DEL RAy closes and locks there gates just a thought to remember.  Take your truck back to camp or make sure you get back to the marina del ray before they close.  Also Im sure you can see them but there is some HUGE bolder rocks coming out of that marina so Becareful you v drive guys.  Its also alittle further of a drive than the one I have been talking about using.  MARINA DEL RAY is on one end of the bridge the public ramp is on the other end of the bridge same sides.  If your traveling south on 751 they will be on your LEFT if your going north on 751 they will be on your RIGHT.  DO NOT PUT IN AT THE BOAT RAMPS SOUTH OF FM 429 RD WHICH IS THE DUCK COVE RAMPS.  YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR TRAILERS. LOOK at the local lake maps  Matt has all the ramps marked.  I will ask for you MATT about if you put in at 751 and bring your truck back and not camping do you have to pay something.  Also I will ask about camp fires But Im sure that is a HUGE NO being we are still under a burn ban.  Neil I dont know if he will let us park on the beach or not I know he has done alot of work to make that place clean level with a box blade.  But I will ask that as well. I have a list to ask.  Im going out around 2 or 3.  I dont have a depth finder so Im REDNECKING IT with a peace of 2" PVC about 8' long make sure we are out far enough.  I know the band that he his having come suppose to be a good one.  They play classic rock and texas country mix of things.  That Sat NIGHT.  Will post up results tomorrow around
4 ish.    MY cell Number is (214 704 5507 Jasson)  if ya need me to ask or want to know anything eles call me before 2 and i will put it on the list and ASK.      OR use it next weekend if you need anything as well.  Looking fwd to it.    jump.gif

Ok here is the low down on all that was aked I just left there.    No camp fires what so ever its a county burn ban not there call.  You cannot use the boat ramp at all at the 429 marina or go threw the passage. They are driving golf carts across it.    If u are coming for the day only and want to park ur truck and trailer at the marina for saftey reasons he is charging folks 5.00 bucks a head to help cover the band and pay the staff he wil have on hand for us. Anyone tent , cabin, or rv camping will NOT be charged the 5.00 cover.  Also if u want to use marina del ray let me know about how many might use that place and he said he could put a combnation lock on the gate for us but they close at 7 00 pm fri and sat 6 00 on sun.  Yes u can drive on the beach and camp they ask us if we decide to camp on beach with tent to please keep it down behind the cabin area or other side of the long dock.  Also Mr. Dale water gamewarden is coming out sat morning at 9am to say his peace and so we can ask any and all question if any.  Also he is going to talk to us about the bouys so have to wait till after 9am meeting sat to put them out.  I took one pic of the beach area I will see if matt will upload it for me its looking east to west standing infront of cabins on the beach.  They also contacted the local fire rescue the have a dive team and boat they are suppose to come out as well.  Try to cover every corner.  Also he stressed to me that he wants to make sure that there is no two way high speed passes. ONE WAY only.  I told him that we have posted that as well and everyone is on the same page.

Here's what Jasson is talking about standing out in front of the cabins.

Well I guess the naked ski races are out, but that's OK Cliff was the only person signed up. Ha ha!

Great work guys, let me know what I can do to help, we are going to cruise up Friday with no real reason to hurry, but if you need us to be there early, let me know.  I will bring dual anchors to post Plan B as a starter barge if you want.  Just let me know what you need.

Here are the pics from Jasson and his description.  All images are clickable thumbs.

From edge of water looking back at park:

Looking East from Tent camping:

Looking West from tent camping:

What is left of the passage from the 429 marine ramp.  This ramp is unusable:

Just a shot of the lake:

The public ramp at the bridge as well as the ramp at marina Del Ray are usable.  I agree with Jasson about the Marina Del Ray ramp.  It is narrow and somewhat difficult to navigate.  It is a real pain in the A$$ to load up if there is more than a couple of boats there.  This is a boat storage yard.  When the people that keep their boats there are done for the day, they pull into one of the 5 slips and just leave their boat there for the yard to load it and store it.  At the end of the day there is no easy way to get from your boat to your truck if the slips are full.  It was a royal PITA to load when I used this ramp.  I had to tie my boat to the fishing house and climb over the guard rail.  There is all kinds of metal sticking out all over that fishing house.  There was nothing fun about it.  The ramp itself is fine.  It's  just a pain if there is more than a couple boats there.

Thxs for post pics matt and cliff my phone old school lol.    Jim yes if u will bring two anchors for u boat that would be wonderful if u don't mind.  That is the main thing the gamewarden is going to ask during drivers meeting if we are going to have boats at starting line and look out boats as wll. And NO two way making passes    I won't be there but most of u guys been doing this before I was born so I know it can be handled.  I think once they here for themselfs that we are all on the same page that all will be good.    Hope the pics help out see y'all on fri or sat some on Thursday.                  LET'S DO THIS!

so for someone who is slow like me, where is the best ramp to launch my hydro? gotta totally submerge the trailer to get it over the fenders, and how far from the ramp are we gonna be at? is there any obstacles i should be aware of when going from the ramp to where ever it is i am going?

What about putting it in 4WD and just launching off the beach?? Don't know if that's even possible or not. Just thinking out loud again..

James, Looking at the pictures, it looks like a very gentle slope, which would mean almost floating the truck to get the depth for the trailer. Plus we would need permission from the owner of 429 and probably the owners of the lake, you know, soil erosion and all that crap.  Randall would have to back up halfway across the lake to get his Hydro to float off the trailer.

the only obstacle is a bridge that you have to drive under. just stay on the south side of the lake. Jason and I will be there to help everyone. I have a 4wheel drive Randall and Ill put you in at the ramp with it if needed.
