As far as the model goes from Plowman , Bret Bayne from Performance Boating Magazine was the one that hired her to come out for the day .. I am not sure what that cost him .. It was a flat rate for the whole day ..

Ok, forget that idea then. At least with a model anyway. Some of the jet boat ladies we bring with us will do better than a stinken model anyhoo IMO!! A couple of hot jet boat chicks and someone with a really nice camera and we'll have an awesome THB calendar for next year!

I am thinking about  swinging  by the lake this Friday about 1:00 PM on my way to Tyler to check the park out . Might take a few pictures while I am there ,, I just want to put my eyes on the park and the water so I can visualize what will happen ..

Wish i could commet on being there all weekend . I would love too , but it still may be just a day trip for me ..
Did you go out to 429 marina Billy?

Looks like you guys have made a great start on this new event. I have a plan to make it out there if everything goes well with my surgery. I should be just about a week out of surgery and will most likely be on a walker again. I  would like to come out and see everyone.

Went out and looked over today. Nice Place and nice beach.  Horshoe pit, volleyball on beach and sandy beach area.  They have dredged out the boat ramp and channel area. through the channel he said was about 5' deep.

Looked at cabins, not the Ritz but very neat and clean.  Not going to sit in room anyway.  There is a recreation area and room. do not know if that comes with it or whehter as a group we have to rent???

Took couple pictures...

I stopped by there Friday about 2:00 PM .. Looked it over and sure hope we get some water .. If not, I do not think we will be able to get the boats out of the lauch area and out to the lake .. He told me is was only about a foot deep after the opening to the lake .. .. I took a few pictures also ..

I was thinking that there was one close , but did not see it .. That may be what we have to do ..

There was a jet ski out there playing and I asked them how deep it was , he told me that he walked about 50-60 ft out and it would be about waist deep ..

How far our are you planning on putting the marker buoys ??

I think minimum  6 feet would be OK ..

Standing at the cabins looking out to the water , are you going to run left to right ?? or right to left ??  If you run right to left , that might help keep some of the noise down to those  new houses ???

I think I would make sure to get out far enough to clear that one boat house to the right that has that long walk way out to it ..

The only problem I see it that those few new houses to the west  of the marina may complain about the noise ..

It going to be tight in there if we have 50-60 boats and trailer all show up .. If I pitch a tent , I am going to the open field and park the boat , trailer and pitch a tent there ..

Let hope we get some rain so we can have little more water to play with , plus we can use the cove by the marina to parks the boats also

well sory guys looks like another I will miss wife and I's anniversary that weekend and she book something already for us didnt tell me and I did the same and quess who wins lol!  crazy.gif

I'll get some opinions on the course layout on Friday morning from the few that are showing up early. I just want it as safe as possible for the boats testing and the people watching from the beach.

X2 what Billy said. We went out there yesterday and going right to left wide open and left to right with no wake would be best IMO. Parking may be tight too if a lot of boats show up. My wife was amazed at the number of people who live in that marina full time. Looks like there's very limited space that has tent camping with power also.

Bring chairs and a folding table and your grill if your tent camping. They don't have the little pavillions with grills Somerville had.
