Sounds like a great date to have the event, less people to boat after school starts. The upside it can be the nobama party.

Good call Bobby.  Just a suggestion.  Go back and edit your first post so the people just getting to read this thread will realize the date is set before they read through 6 pages.  :smile30:  Let me know where I can help.

After having a 22ft. bumper pull & a 26 ft. popup, we bought a 22 foot Class C, which is a motorhome based on a one ton van. We like the hell out of it... It does use some fuel, but driving 2 vehicles everywhere uses quite a bit of fuel too. Drags the boat just fine, launch & retrieve with it too. Some folks are scared to do that though...

Sweet we have been thinking of a 30' tag along, only because we have to take the truck any way just to put the boat in! so might as well pull the trailer & boat with that duramax!!

Be careful your not over 65' total length, in Texas anyway. DPS will get ya.

I just reserved cabin 11.

Me and bobby are going to go over when it gets alittle closer and work out the details they want to do things for us this yr to make it better than last yr.  They also have one or two cabins that are brand new there this yr.  Looking fwd to it  jump.gif

TIME OUT

Is plowman's dead?  The last I heard, Rocky was in talks with the powers in charge there.  There is new management with the Corp. people and I would hate to lose plowman's if there is a chance.  Plowman's has some advantages over most places that time of year.  One of which is the water is somewhat protected from Northerly winds, which are likely at that time of year.

Don't get me wrong, but if there is any winds from the North at Tawakoni, the water will be far different than last year.  If there is a Northerly wind and the boats run the same direction as 2011, they will be headed into the wind.  Hopefully I will have mine running, but I won't run into a head wind.

Like I said last year I'm not trying to take the place of plowmans. I just picked a date that would work for everyone and there has not been any talk about plowmans. We would change running direction if needed at Tawakoni.

Am I the only guy that didn't see the sandwich girl? Is there any pics? I'm feeling like I didn't get the full Twak expirience. Lol

I hear ya.....Plowmans didn't want us there any longer and 429 marina does....seems like a common sense trade off to me.

All i can say is if someone is tryin to get Plowmans goin again they might want to mark a date on the calender. I only attended one event there and it was fun, but it was as dangerous as any place i've been. Two way traffic in and out of the cove,no organization, no drivers meetings, just a free for all. If the powers that be allows it again i betcha it'll be a ticket trap. :smile30:
But that has nothing to do with this Tawakoni event, it was awesome last year and with the exception of a couple loose nuts it was fairly organized and as safe as you'll ever see in a run what ya brung situation. See ya'll there! :smile17:
