stupid windows question

I know in xp it was the fix for problems I was having long ago, deleted what I needed to, turned off restore temporarily, reboot, turn restore back on, and didn't lose any restore points, just got rid of the infected files. Thanks for the help anyway. I don't see the option in vista. All is good. carry on. bling.gif

That was more common in the beginning with XP.  System restore got much better with XP SP2 and later versions of Vista and Windows 7.  There is very rarely any reason to disable system restore any more unless you are short on drive space.
