OK -- I have a new prop on the way and I want to test it after I get it on the boat .. So if all goes to plan and the prop gets here the middle of next week , I would like to go to Steel Creek on Sept 26th for a couple of Test runs .. Does any one want to go .. If water condition are not good we will have to go to another park , but hoping water will be good at Steel Creek

I just picked me up a suction mount for my little camera at lunch . Hopefully I can get some side view of the boat running so I can see what the boat is doing ..
Loren - have you done a side shot of your boat running .. If so where did you mount the video camera , front or back ??  I would think at the front edge of the boat looking back may work better

Sorry Billy I've never tried suction cup mounting. All my mounts are solid so they go off the ski tow or brackets I've made bolted to something. Do post the video though.

It will be another week , but I may stick it to the Camaro and go around the block this weekend for a test run and see how it does ..
On the boat , just trying to see what would be the best spot to look  where is the water breaking on the boat.. Hell I can drive one hand and Video with the left hand .. NOT !!!!  I might better rig me up a float to it in case it goes over board ..

I would think around the drivers area above the water line aiming back at the back 3' of the chine would be a good starting point.

Can't tie it off to something inside? Sort of a lifeline for the camera in case it did happen to fall off. The suction cup mounts "supposed" to work well, but ya never know...

OK -- I will see where I can mount it this weekend ..I am hoping I can mount it on top on  the boat around the driver seat ,  that would  be a good spot so i can turn it on and off easy .. Not sure I want to mount it on the side of the boat just yet ..

I have a few of those also , but they mount to the side of the camera and not the bottom of it .. They would work good for the side of the boat .. Hell I may forget to turn mine own also . I alway forget to hit the record on the tack ..

The one Henry has is a bottom mount.  He has it on the aft of the RH sponson.  I made Henry a checklist, laminated it, and taped it in plain view......  SMH.

You do know if its a Gopro with wifi you can link it to your smart phone and preview, start, stop and replay the footage. Just have to be within 500' or so to turn it on or off.

think.gif  Ya know, that's probably what needs to happen if it has that feature.  I don't know because, its not mine.

I made me a lanyard for the Video camera for safety , and I test fit it on the top side of the boat .. I think this will work just fine to face back of the boat to see where the water is breaking and then I can try some different angle and position with  the camera later ..  This little suction cup mount is pretty nice for 30.00 at Best Buy ..  Just wish I could view it at the lake so I can make changes there and not wait to get home to view it .. Oh well , maybe later I can get a better camera that has a replay and view finder ..
