We need more threads like the Mighty Demon one.. I just had to refer back the that thread to find cam specs to post on the rub rail thread.

If it's that great of a thread, maybe you should get a moderator to move it to the proper section for the rest of THB to use later when someone is looking for information.  Just an idea.

I agree, tech threads should be posted in appropriate areas. Boat projects, hp mechanic, etc.

Well, it started out as an opinion thread that morphed into a tech thread. But no matter where the thread is located, using the search function, which must be done no matter what the thread the info is buried in, will bring it out. Search function works through ALL sections, so it can stay where it was born, in the North.

If I want to find info on an 850 demon, should I go through tech threads one at a time, or just use search with looks at ALL threads in an instant..

For example....

Lavon video posted in the video section.. 15 views, zero replies

Same video posted in the North section on the same day... 348 views, 46 replies.

I look at the other sections, post in all sections. Fact is the north and south sections are the ones that actually get used. I didn't make it that way, it is what it is. But I DID post that vid to BOTH sections on the same day and you see what happened.

I agree that tech info should be in the tech section, but very few people actually look in there. If you want an opinion or question answered by the largest audience, posting it in the north or south section will get it answered, it will get looked at by the most eyes, more people will get the info. The Mighty Demon thread started in engine talk would probably have less than 100 views and four replies. There's a predator thread there with exactly that, 96 views and 2 replies....

I also like the east Texas guys. If you guys would click on the side box under VIEW FORUM STATS you will find some interesting Info on teh site. Look at Dman, he posts more than Duane and I thought Duane posted alot. I would think Patch and Kona would be top contenders as posters also. We have amost 4700 views a day. You know without you guys on here with all your chit chat  :smiley: or just  good ole info , the site would not be what it is today. I would ven think the Moderators jobs have been some what peacefull lately. I thank you all for that and I am sure thay do too. Plus this sure makes the winter go by faster and before you know it spring will be here and we will back on teh waters of Texas again. Thanks to all who help this site out. Bill"cookieman"

Okay, that brings up a question I've been wondering about. Is North considered North of I-20? I know it says DFW up to the border but man....we have to draw the line somewhere and make sure the North/South lines aren't blurred. Lol. God forbid if I get some south on my hands or worse yet, my shoes....might take a while to wash off...lol. yuk!

I'm gonna throw my .02 out here.  There has been some discussion lately about getting posts in the right sections of the board.  While this would be ideal for organization it just never works out that way.  All the boards I have been on have the same issue.  The great thing is the search feature works for the most part.  IMHO it's better to have the info in front of as many people as possible rather than no info at all.  I am the worlds worst for posting in the regional forums.  On the flip side I am one of the better ones at using and pushing other to use the search feature.

The best thing a forum can have is traffic.  Posting in reginal sections brings traffic.

I had the same problem with my I-phone and all i did was update to 4.2 or which ever one is the latest. I have the 3GS phone.
