There should be plenty of beach in time for Welchfest/Rocky/YeguaFest.  Forecasters say that even though we have gotten "lucky" this winter getting rain, that because of a persistent "La Nina" weather pattern we could go right back into drought during the warm months this year (March-October).  I am just very thankful that the lake is starting off at 5 feet OVER full this year instead of already being 3 feet low like last year.

Yep, it's been raining HARD north and northwest of Somerville today...  Probably going up another 3-5 feet before it goes down.  No dried up lake this year, even if it quits raining completely.

It looks like it's been raining quite a bit just upstream from Lake Mathis too.  Hopefully, they'll get some much needed run off into the lake.

That's why it's always such a popular hangout, BUT there are a lot of spectators on the shoreline and then you got the wakeboard boats, that cove gets crowded with those.  And John cut his foot on a steel wheel rim over there last year while the lake was real low.
