I have a friend that runs SDBA and he said they did some screwy stuff to him this past season and he is really thinking of running Lucas points next season. He also said the Lucas payout is better.

I have nothing against the SDBA. great people, and my experience was awesome. Just that with my limited budget I can't afford to race once a month in Texas. They are going to co point at chouteau so I'll race that one.
If this NDBA/OKC motorsports dale kicks off, there's 3 races right down I-40. It just makes since for me.

I wouldn't walk across the street to participate or watch a SDBA race.

Stacey why don't you tell us how you really feel about SDBA .. I like to go watch because that the best we have around here .. It would be cool if they ever got circle boats back here .. My Dad use to race a circle flat bottom years ago .. It had a pulley and belt set up instead of the v-drive box we use today ..

I still would like to get my boat on the clocks one of these days ..
Billy, I will not go into specifc details about them, but when I was running drag boats not they had there "clicks" and there favorites there and when you put a board member on the trailer, that person would protest you and then when you beat him out of a National Championship he try's to get you disqualified.
I drove in there club and IHBA from 95 till 2002. Then ran some Lucas and sold out to drive the circle boats. Now I'm working with Lucas to bring in some circle boats since they run crackerboxes.

From what I have seen in past years, it appears all of the organizations seem to have issues.
IHBA came along and originally seemed to take things to the next level, then, if you weren't in one of the 3 pro classes, you were treated as though you were in the way.  I think Charley Fagen was quoted as referring to everyone else as ramp clutter.
He also took over SDBA racing sites and promptly shut them down.

I see Lucas doing the same things.
The Pro boats get paid for racing while the bracket classes have to pay even though they are the show.
I like to see fuelers run, but I'd rather see a pair of pro gas flats run than anything.
Time will tell.

Smokin' in the Cove is still the best show in town.
SDBA has been around for a long time and I hope they don't make the same mistakes as in the past.

Yeah - I have heard some stories like that also . Just makes is hard to keep members and also to get new members ..It all about who you know and blow ..  I would just do it for the fun of it for maybe two races a season .. Just something to throw about 500.00 away at each race .. LOL .. I woudl love to be able to watch some circle races here ..

You are exactly right Henry. Once you start getting too serious about chasing the points and winning money it turns into another job and the fun is gone! Iv been there.

My Motto, Don't work where you play cause you can't play where you work.  :smile30:

One of the first things a guy told me when I started talking about going racing was, dont get caught up in the drama.
