Best thing to do probably is just pick a date & throw it out there. People will work around it. Doing it ahead of time may seem like your jumping the gun, but it gives people plenty of time to make arrangements for days off, sitters, etc. if they need it.

Of course that will lead to a 20+ page thread with probably 3 actual pages of useful information, but this is THB ya know, lol....

Kenny thank you for the advice... never planned anything like this....  would like to make ago of it... we have some really nice water to run on and plenty of parking and a real easy ramp to use... and do not want to conflict with any other plans but the first of the season last year there was a big gap in gatherings... i just thought this might fit the bill  :smile15:

No worries, thats what we are all here for. :smile15: Just start a thread sometime with a date. There will probably never be a perfect time that is good for everybody, but if too many people say they can't make it for this or that reason, can always change to accomodate folks.

Just throw up some directions and/or a location of the ramp, people can then Google or Mapquest it to see what kind of traveling time they are looking at. Good to know about having plenty of parking, that is always a bonus. Is there a dock or pier or anything at the ramp? How about water conditions or obstructions, anything in particular fresh meats need to know ahead of time?

Once you get the ball rolling, people will come up with their own questions, that is just a couple of the main things I can think of.

From the pics I've seen, looks like a nice place, I know we'd check it out fo sho.....

just a heads up on conditions of river:  ramp easy to use wide open with horse shoe approach to ramp ,  parking on upper level...no dock...river bank similar to Altair at ramp... river easy to run in with minimum obstructions if any to the horse shoe sandbar,  after that depending of river level obstructions present to high banks where normally we gather at, but the center of river is usually open for running.

NO,  it's these sorry a$$ telephone companies...if they aren't screwing with me with my wireless,  they are screwing with me on my land lines.... TIME TO BOYCOTT THEM... THEY WANT YOUR MONEY BUT WILL NOT PROVIDE THE SERVICE....THEY PAY OFF THE LEGISLATION AND YOU CAN'T SEEM TO DO A DAMN THING ABOUT IT.....

Not sure about your landline situation, but it is possible to break a contract with a cellular provider if they can't provide reasonable service. My mom did it three times, with 3 different cell phone companies. Didn't cost her a dime. She ended up getting a couple of those "pay as you go" cellular phones....
