I have been west of the 59 bridge ONCE ONLY!!! I let a friend drive my Taylor because he said he knew the waters. We wound up aground on a sandbar that almost spanned the river, only it turned out to be SPRING CREEK!!! We only knew that because we heard loudspeakers through the trees saying that Jesse Jones Park was closing. We hiked out through the park, leaving the boat there overnight. My "buddy" lived very close to where we exited the park, and we spent the night trying to get somewhere close by land to get the boat unstuck. Wound up sneaking equipment like ropes and shovels and come-alongs back into the park to the boat the next day. You are not supposed to touch anything or leave the paths. We worked all day to winch the boat to slightly deper water at the edge, and when it would float, hauled ass out.
Never been, never going, back. We do run from the 59 bridge to the Lake Houston Parkway bridge, no further either way, though I know you can get into the lake from there.
