The only reason they were allowed to hand print  :smile30: its bilge paint from Pettit, sprayed on w a 2.0 tip

Alright so after spraying my bilge last Sunday it had a major problem that I realized in Tuesday several spots were gummy. I thought back to what they heck could have happened and I didn't remember shaking and stiring the paint in the can before pouring it into my gun. Rookie mistake.. So my brother was kind enough to come over and help me scrape and sand it all back down w 80 grit. I have been nursing a back all week that is giving me more pain than I have experianced in my back before. So I havnt done much this week.. My brother offered to help tonight and it was painful as hell but I figured I may as well suffer thru and get it done.. Here is a few shots of the mess I had and the results from tonight. There appears to be a few spots that will have to be scuffed back down and blended back in but no big deal.

Look at it this way, how nice was the fit and finish when these came from the factory originally? From the pictures I've see you'll be at least that good if not better. If you're like me this process has shown you that that there was quite a bit of tolerance in these things originally. Yours will look great once you get it all togther.  clap.gif

Just curious, do you know where the motor is going to sit? I'd fit a motor in, and then take a few measurements to make sure that when you do install the motor and interior in, everything will fit.

Cliff I am just putting everything back to where it was originally, I put the original hatch on and back seat in and made a few measurements.

Thanks fellas I am moving on to the wood behind the dash replacement next then under bow compartment. All wood work is nearly done at this point... The flip is fast approaching  :smile20:

Well I am back I stepped away for 10 days didn't do a thing to the SS, threw my back out it needed rest and I had over 100 claims assigned to me last month, seemed like a good time for a break.. But anyhow back at it tonight ripped apart the dash getting ready to replace wood behind it.
