That Glastron is a SSV run about. Back then you get get them IN/OUT, jet or Outboard. When growing up we had a 1979 model that I remeber Dad bought new at the boat show. He had to special order it to get the bigger engine. It had a 165 HP Straight six in it. Went 50 MPH. That was FAST for a run about back then.

This boat would make a good family boat for someone around stump filled lakes or rivers. A little TLC and you could be boating in the spring. ::grin:

There is a boat identical to that here in MN near my house....... They want $1200 for it, but said they would raise the price to $1800 in the spring.....

I think it is the same color as that one, I had to look at the license number on the boat to make sure it didn't have a MN on it

Prices are always negotiable. I overhauled the engine with new speed pro pistons. The block and heads are 425. The rotating assembly is 455. The 425 steel crank will go with the boat if full price is paid. New floor with carpet and new lounge seats. The mechanical fuel pump just crapped out the last time I took it out. I really hate to get rid of it because its such an odd-ball but " I don't need three boats " (wife's quote). BTW, lots of room for coolers FULL of beer. :cheers

Was that boat out of Waco, say about 8 to 10 years ago ?????

As far as I know, it was not.  The story goes that the Braesher family (they own a couple of Chevy dealerships in the area) in Weimar bought the boat new and had it for a long time, ended up selling to an employee and from there, swapped hands through the dealership a few times before the guy I bought from (who worked for the dealership) sold it to me.

I just noticed it has an "E" pump. The one we worked on had a "C" pump. Other than that, it's identical. There's 2 or 3 of those old boats around up here.

O.K. maybe its not so rare after all. :smile13:  I have yet to see another one like it though.  Then again, they don't let me out much.  :smile23:

These days they probably are pretty rare, but I think back in the late 60's, early 70's they were pretty popular.
