Project Spectra 20

Well into year 2 of the Spectra re-build. Started out as just a freshen up, but with everything shot, gel, floor, tanks, interior, trailer etc, had to basicly start fresh from scratch. It's been a long road but it's finally gettin somewhat close. Second gel color supposed to be gettin shot today, some interior pieces are supposed to be ready tomorrow, the bullet is ready to go back in, the pump has new shiney powder coat and ready to go in, and should squirt the pearl black House of Kolor on the new triple axle next week. Hopefully we'll be able to make at least one gathering this year, and had thrown out the suggestion to have one on Lake Belton since Plowman's dosen't look like it's gonna happen. Lake Belton is only 7-8' below normal right now. I'll put up some more pics as things come together.

Dude!! You have a Predator carb!! I've always wondered how well one of those would work on a jet boat. I saw a guy on Ebay a couple of weeks ago that had TWO for $500. I was thinking about it..

Anyway, that's a good looking cruiser right there.

I've had it for years and it is the cat's meow. Thats a ok deal for two. They really are an awesome carb for big block boats & i've never had one ounce of trouble outa mine. Thanks for the compliment....

Great looking boat, I'm in the middle of doing the same thing to my 21 Liberator.  My question is How much bracing did you have to do to lay the boat on its side? I'm not sure mine will stand the pressure on the sides.

Went by the gel shop on Saturday, tape pulled. Still light in a few places but will re-spray those areas before we cut and buff. Sand and buff is gonna be a huge job. Hopefully will have the rest of the color on this week, and i'm off to spray the trailer starting in the AM.

As far as laying it on it's side, the gunnels of the Spectra are super thick so we didn't brace anything special, just some carpet over the boards. On a light layup would probably put it on foam blocks.

Well I guess I haven't updated my thread in quite a while. Bustin' ass to get wet this weekend. It's been a long long road but we're almost there.

Thanks guys. Can't wait to get it wet, & hope'n to make a few THB events this year finally. 13 years since this things seen water except for rain.
