I wonder how many batteries that thing takes or maybe it needs shore power and thats why its not on the lake.

the floor is probably cored, meaning there is wood sandwiched between 2 layers of glass, you cant screw seats to 1/4" of fiberglass through a floor to hold seats i, and in that case your floor is rotted, probably the whole core is gone, there is no quick way to fix it.

UPDATE... got all of the old paint off... filled my holes with fiberglass resin, sanded...pretty much ready for primer...

ordered my paint! 1 gallon of Plum Pearl Gloss... 1 Gallon of Sour AppleGloss... and1 galon of single stage urethane primer. 

The temperature up here has been in thehigh 60's and 70's.... and the "paint booth" has a heater in it... so i think ill be layin down some paint by this weekend.

got my new boarding step, and i have a plan for my new seats im gonna build! illl keep yall posted!

BONED!!!!!!.... i have lost my privlige to use the air compressor and paint booth... so now i have 300 dollars in useless paint... cant afford an air compressor, or tent, or air guns, and lines, and filters... fucking boned!

A tent can be made cheaply out of some PVC and tarps or thick clear plastic.  You can rent an air compressor inexpensively.  Harbor freight has some gravity feed guns that are descent for inexpensive, I have a coupon for them can send you.  It is all doable on a shoestring budget if you want to explore it.  I would say for half the cost of your paint or less you can be back in business.  If you buy a compressor then your at or a little above the cost of your paint.

Spd if I remember correctly he is up in the pan handle up near amarillo.

You should get in touch with Techmarine he lives in Lubbock.  I know its a bit of a drive but he might have a space you could borrow to get it painted.

A big compressor and tank would be ideal but it can be done on a 5HP 20 gal compressor too.  Especially if you go with a HVLP gun.  Gravity feed guns tend to use less air too in my experience.  Custom touch would be best to give you an idea on this but Spd painted his Kona and I don't think he used a big giant compressor hopefully he will chime back in.

Edit: I went back and looked at Spd pics and finally spotted his compressor in one of them.  It looks a little bigger than a 5HP 20gal compressor but not much.

ok that helps... my boss has a 20 gal 5hp... and i have an HVLP....

last question... i bought the summit single stage urethane paint... how do i mix/thin this out to prepare for painting?  the can sais to mix it 4/1 with summit activator... is this accurate?

yes, follow thier mixing instructions, most urethanes i use mix 2:1, but if it say 4:1 then mix it to that before reducing. to thin it you need a urethane reducer. after activating it , some urethanes may or may not need reducing. add thinner slowly, if its too thin it will be more prone to fish eyes and it will not cover all of the different colors. also i would wash the boat with comet on a scuff pad the day before then the day of painting wipe it with a good quality wax and grease remover. after mixing your paint in the cup, let it sit for 10 minutes before spraying it....it lets the chemicals do thier thing that way they dont try to react on the paint surface.

also, you need to make sure your air is bone dry, water in a compressor will find its way into the paint very quickly.

would it be better to leave it thick? i have a gallon of each color, so i think i have more than enough  to do everything... i just dont know the do's and dont's of painting with air... but ill do my best...lol

I would mix up a small batch and do a test panel on some old metal or fiberglass if you have it.  Then you can see what mix works best, what air pressures, what settings on the gun.
