price of 110 octane race fuel?

It looks like the engine being built for my Tr2 is going to require 110 race fuel. It has been a long time since I have had to buy any so I am curious what it costs per gall now. Also, is there a break for buying 55 gallon drum?

It is still going to be cheaper than putting in 150 gallons or so of 93 in the old boat just for a day or two of cruising. :smile24:

Just picked up a drum of 116 nos max and it was 480 a drum. I asked how much for standard 110? He told me 330 a drum at Lone Star supergas in Kilgore Tx.
He also sells nitrous.

sucks but 6.11 a gallon is a good price.

I agree. I was being told it was running somewhere around $10-$12 dollars a gallon. I can live with $6-$8. The extra HP it allows you to run is worth that.  (At least to me.)

Thanks .. might run a drum through the new engine before I switch to e-85..
That way I can compare the two fuels ..

I ran 110 B32 in a LS-7 and swapped to E-85.  After I got the E-85 tuned, could not tell any difference except price, (way cheaper), smell, (almost none), but it did run way cooler.  The headers were as cool without water as they were with gasoline and water.  You will need a thermostat to get your motor to operate at proper temps, otherwise the oil temp will not get hot enough to vaporize the condensation out of the oil pan.  Your oil will stay cleaner for much longer too.

Don't waste your money on race gas, make the conversion, you will be happy you did.

A properly tuned motor will make more power on E-85 than gasoline.

We are planning to run E-85 .. We should have the conversion kit for the 1250 Dominator already .. so with with 13.6 to 1 compression , the E-85 should hit and run good . The block is half filled with block filler , so oil temp should be fine . I have installed a new oil temp gauge just to make sure that the oil temp is in the range we want it to be .

I can;t wait to try the new engine with the E-85,, If it makes any where near what the desk top dyno show with E-85  , I will be extremely happy ...  :smile16:

Should be able to test in a few more weeks .

Just heard the new crank is installed , cam degreed , The new rods are hanging on the new pistons .. getting closer ..
