Great day sun came out 2:00 cool but low wind. Lake came up some junk in the water but not bad. Tomorrow should be fantastic, there is enough water to make a run to the island if any one wanted to go. If you were worried about coming come on.  jump.gif

It was a great weekend .. Weather was good .. Just a little cloudy ..  Only problem was the debris floating down from up river .. Water was coming up quit a bit .. Water was good in the cove for playing .. Just had to watch for stuff once you got past the boat ramp ..
It tried to sprinkle a little Saturday midday so I went for a couple of runs and scared the rain  away .. LOL ..


The fish fry was great as usual ..


Good visiting with you JJ .. As usual you were right , looks like my quadrant is loose on the rudder , I think the bolt and nut back off again .. That explain the walking around when I let off of it .. I will get with you in the fall to get the prop shaft cut and also put a new stuffing box in mine ..

I forgot to mention on Friday when i went out for a couple of test run the Texas Game Warden was waiting for me at the ramp .. His name is Matt .. I thought for sure I was getting a ticket for at least no baffles .He asked me what we were doing and we had a good conversation and I told that we was just getting a few of us together for the last outing of the year .. He wanted to make sure we watched out for the Bow Hunters in their john boats and to be careful of the swift current out there . I told him we would and I asked him if were were "Good " and he said yes and took off .. Sure is nice to meet a Game Warden that is nice ..

That was "Sort of funny."

I hadn't been there very long when Billy put in, and almost immediately we see the game warden drive in and goes directly to the ramp, and waits.  Billy came in shortly and talked to him, while everyone watched from a distance speculating what was going to happen.

As Billy said, they had a conversation and all was good.
Most Game wardens are good guys and unless you have an attitude or doing something reckless, they will leave you alone.

I was glad he was a Nice guy .. I was a little worried when I was out in the boat and seen him up by my truck waiting for me .. I thought this is no way to start the weekend by having the Game Warden waiting for me at the ramp .. But is was all good ..

Billy you know it could have been a hunter call in on yall and try to get him to enforce the hunter harassment law? LOL Making noise and bothering them poor hunters :smile30:

I was doing a little kiss assing to keep me out of trouble .. It could have been a hunter or someone in the park that called .. hell he might was just checking on the Hunters to make sure they had their hunter license..  He did go over and talk to the guy that was pulling out of the water with a Jon Boat .. No matter , I was very nice to him and I did not get a ticket and he was a very nice person ..

Does that big boat have over transom headers on it?

YES - It had over transom exhaust , looked like double wall headers or something , could not see it real good .. Might be lightning or some good exhaust manifold and then the over transom pipes ..


He said it would run 135 mph +. it should the cost of it .. I guess 100,00 and it was way over that price , add another 75,000 to my number .. Made like 1200 HP , 12-71 blown BBC in it ..

Huh, first time I've seen a big boat of that sort with over transom exhaust on it. Pretty cool.
