Here's a few pics of my son Jacobs Pinewood derby car for the race next weekend January 22, 2011. We got the paint scheme idea from PRO53's hot rod picture he has on his PRO53 Hondo thread.

That's pretty awesome. I should get Edawrd into the scouts.

Thanks. He's really proud of that car.

Ya man, I think you should too......it's an awesome organization and really teaches boys the right things in life. Wish I were a scout when I grew up....guess I'll have to live through Jacob.

Get him involved bro!!

I was in it for a few years growing up. Got to hike the Grand Canyon rim to rim to rim... Did 62 miles on the center sections of the Mogollan Rim in AZ also.

We came up on a rattlesnake one day on our hike. The scoutmaster pulled out .45 and shot him.. The next day he had a new hat band with a rattle on it.

We are going to put lead exhaust pipes on it today and then go to the post office and weigh it. The weight has to be 5 ounces or less in order to race.

If you're out and about you can borrow my digital scale and get it right on the money then go the post office to verify. But I think I have the same scale the scouts use for pinewood derbys. We can go check out my empty hull too.

Dude, seriously? Man...that would save us a lot of hassle. Whats the address to your shop again?

EDIT: Never mind, I have it....I'll see you around 11:30am. Thanks bro!!

Take you time man, no hurry... The block will a lot better when the goods are stuffed inside it.

Well after all the work we put into the car, it didn't perform well because of sabotage. Yep....that stuff still happens. Apparently the neighbor girl across the street was over and when she saw the car, she went over and pushed it into the table hence bending the axles.  We didn't realize the damage until we had to check the car in the night before and do test runs. Well we didn't have enough time to repair the bent axles before the end of the impound session so we had to race with what we had.

Attached are some photos from yesterdays race Saturday January 22, 2011
