Pigeon Forge Rod Run

Some pictures from the Pigeon Forge Rod Run... these weren't even from the show, these along with hundreds more, could be seen cruising or parked on both sides of the main drag running through town. It was a helluva afternoon. Figured some folks would get a kick out of some old iron. Also, for those interested, if you click on the link under the pic it will open the pic to its original OldBuck space shuttle size pic....  :cheesy: Shows up bigger than just clicking on the thumbnail.

This 'Vette was gorgeous, wish I could have got some better pics of it not crammed in the parking space. And the Fairlane wagon I soooo wanted to bring home, lol...

I would have liked to made it to the actual show, but this was pretty cool in its own right. What REALLY blew me away, was that most of these cars sat out on the street all week long unattended when they weren't being driven around. The crime rate in the area is damn near zero & it showed.

That & pretty much every car had a "For Sale or Trade" sign on it. You walk up to look at one & if the owner was around they'd say, "What we tradin'?" To which I would respond, "Shit, I wish..." lol

Nice pics! I would have been in heaven. I need you to send me a pic of that wagon, my friend has one under construction. :smile30:

There was so much to see, didn't get pics of half the stuff I wanted to. Battery was running low & didn't want to kill it. And people selling parts, it was like a swap meet 2 miles long. :smile16: We walked around there for close to 4 hours & still didn't see it all. Definitely put me in a hot rod frame of mind. That blue GMC in that last bunch of pics, thats the stance I want for my '76. Probably will do chrome open wheels though instead of painted. Gotta figure out backspacing & whatnot.

What wagon, that stroller thing? Or the Ford stationwagon...

Click on the link under the thumbnail pic... It should open up the original version in its full-size dimensions in another window, then you can click & save it. If it doesn't work for some reason, shoot me yer email & I'll send it to you that way. That old speedshop sticker a couple notches down, that was on the rear side windows on the back of the wagon, along with some old stickers from various dragstrips out in California. Pretty friggin sweet ol car, wished I would have had the $6K to bring it home.
